Begin a career as a Head of Communications in Manchester

A Head of Communications role in Manchester is a highly-coveted position, thanks to the exciting and vibrant digital and tech scene in the Northern hub that is Manchester.

A Head of Communications is a senior business role which is ideally suited for someone with corporate and internal communications experience - normally around 10 years - and a proven ability to manage departments and people effectively. This position is demanding and requires the ability to manage partner relationships as well as seeking out new opportunities and building strategic networks, in order to improve existing company communications strategies. Moreover, it requires an influential and charismatic individual who can not only devise and develop future initiatives but can see these through, whilst inspiring their team and managing communications programs in an international context. You will work alongside Marketing departments, including Head of Marketing and Marketing Coordinators.

Such a role would suit a candidate with outstanding communication skills, who can present ideas effectively, gain support and effectively implement new proposals whilst turning information into compelling content in a creative way. The desirable candidate would be qualified to degree level in a Communications, Marketing, or Business background and would have garnered superior marketing understanding and already possess an extensive press and local media network. Your daily tasks would vary in a constantly-changing environment, however you would need to be able to prioritise tasks, delegate to a team of communicators and coordinate strategy and workflow through your department with your excellent people management skills.

Manchester provides one of the most rewarding backgrounds against which you can develop your skill set in this role. You could be part of a dedicated Communications team with Accounting giants EY or other sizeable global organisations with headquarters in Manchester.

You would be reporting to a Director of Communications and would be the beneficiary of a normally generous salary and company benefits package which could also include the opportunity to travel abroad, as well as unbeatable chances to develop your professional skills and grow your career.
