Job profile – Head of Recruitment

A Head of Recruitment works within the HR department of a company to act as the lead in the strategy and delivery of all levels of staff. Normally reporting to the HR Director, you will be able to influence the company's talent strategy. You will be responsible for senior recruitment processes, possibly across multiple office locations, developing the overall recruitment strategy of the firm, coordinating talent strategy and taking a proactive lead in analysing the most successful approaches to inform future attraction methods. You will also need to be financially aware in order to deliver a cost-effective recruitment process as well as able to identify the most innovative and newest methods of sourcing, perhaps using social media and networking. Overall these tasks will contribute to you effectively managing the company's internal and external recruitment brand.

Requirements for being a successful Head of Recruitment

This role will normally require previous HR and Recruiting experience and professional working experience of your particular industry. As HR is a department that is required in all sorts of industries, you are not only limited to working to recruitment agencies but also across SME's, smaller companies and other global firms, who are all looking for the highest-performing candidates and the tools to deliver them. You must be comfortable working with external agencies and partners and therefore must be a strong and effective communicator. Experience managing a small team is also highly desirable in order to coordinate the delivery of a strong strategy within your team. You moreover should possess a proactive approach with regards to problem solving and a strong commercial or marketing mind-set.
