Job profile – Community Manager

As a Community Manager, you can expect to work in a position which offers you the chance to engage online with customers, manage social media and advocate your brand in the digital sphere through positive and constant interaction with your new, old and potential clients. Moreover, you will help with the implementation of online marketing channels through a range of social media channels and identify how to coordinate strategy across these channels to streamline digital output, as well as being the first point of contact for your company at events and meetups. This role requires a strong understanding of digital communities such as Facebook and Twitter, as well as blogs and RSS feeds, and their relevant suitability. You also need an understanding of the best ways to use the digital communities and how to expand online presence through the utilisation of the newest social media channels.

Requirements for being a successful Community Manager

Client interaction is one of the foundations of a Community Manager's role and therefore excellent communication skills are required as well as solid digital skills for content creation. A Community Manager will have a proactive and outgoing personality, as they are the face of a company and as manager of both inward and outward communications. They will also be organised in managing a range of channels and tools, highly experienced with the digital market and the online consumer and their needs, also possess writing skills to create good PR and blog content. An interest in their relevant industry and product is also a requirement, as a Community Manager acts as a point of the first contact and therefore needs to be both aware of the current market trends and developments and passionate about their product's potential.
