Job profile – Head of Finance

Heads of Finance are normally employed within a company's financial department in order to oversee all financial protocol and activity and ensure finance measures are effectively implemented and operating correctly. This role involves overseeing the development of financial reports, implementing financial policies, directing staff operations, leading a finance team and analysing finances and creating projections so as to identify areas where improvements need to be made to continue to increase profits.

Requirements for being a successful Head of Finance

You should have already gained previous impressive experience within Finance and Accounting departments and in a corporate context to best use your knowledge and expertise to identify key drivers in supporting growth and profit. You will strive to maximise business and financial performance at all times. In being a qualified Accountant, you will possess the ability to understand complex financial models and in turn explain these to colleagues and coordinate financial management at all levels. For this, you should also be a strong communicator with an influential and driven personality. Written and verbal skills are therefore equally as important as numerical and analytical abilities.
